Sirenland Writers Conference Blog
Yes, there are fairy godmothers. Or something like that. My news is that my book of noir crime stories has been accepted for publication by a small press located in Denver called New Pulp Press.
Tentative title: No Way, Jose & Other Crime Stories. Two of the stories in the collection were workshopped at Sirenland in 2008 & 2009. So thanks to everyone at Sirenland who provided insightful comments that made the stories better. The title novella was workshopped at the Zoetrope: All-Story writers' conference held in Belize in 2007. Thus far Ben Fountain and Ron Rash have agreed to write blurbs for the book. So...anything is possible if you just keep after it. My painter spouse Dahlia and I are still living with the magical dream that was that week in March 2009 at Le Sirenuse. Her oil pastel drawing of Positano is above.
Cheers,
Jonathan Woods
