Sirenland Alum Makes Good: Lesley Conquers Chicago!

Julia Keller, the Chicago Tribune's cultural critic, features Lesley in her debut literary column from Sunday, quoting her for the 'paragraph of the week.' It's quite an honor to be featured in a paper that publishes very little literary coverage.

Remember folks, if you pass through Chicago on a book tour, let me know. I'd love to see you again.

Dani's reading for One Story

We had a great time here in New York on Friday, where I hosted a reading for Dani, and got the chance to catch up with Sirenlanders Nina and Randolyn. For those of you who missed it, you can listen to the reading at One Story's website. The link is here: http://www.one-story.com/media/osreading_2007-05-04.mp3 .

Black and White and Read All Over -- And More

Hey folks, if you haven't read Dani's new book yet, get thee to a bookstore, now!

It's addictively readable, and will remind you why the Sirenland workshop was such a valuable experience. Dani really knows how to pull you into a story, and not let you go until after the very last page -- until after you've re-read her bio and acknowledgements and the description of adobe garamond.

And if you finish before prime time, you can catch this show tonight about Positano's neighbor, Herculaneum.
